Default HELP IN PLANNING A FAMILY TRIP TO HOLLAND

Hi
I'm planning a family trip to Holland and I need a little help with two
questions:
1. What is the Holland museum card and after how many visits in museum
its worth buying?
2.We're 8 people (three of us are drivers); do you think it's better to
rent one big car or two regular car? (we're all the same family and
we're planning 8 days family trip in the Netherlands)
Thank you!

Unlimited, one year, 400 museums, for 29.95 Euro
http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/museumkaart/

2.We're 8 people (three of us are drivers); do you think it's better to

Two cars.
Firstly, you will hardly find rental cars for 8 people,
Secondly, you won't be able to park a small bus when sightseeing in tight
cities.
Thirdly, in 8 days, I reckon you will want to split up your party once in
a while, and two cars would come handy.

Downside: you'll have to get gas for two cars, and fuel _is_ a factor in
Holland. Renting diesel cars would be worth investigating in advance.

Addition:

Entrance fees for dutch museums vary between 3 and 10 euros pp.
On average, visiting four museums would be about 30 euro.

Most expensive museums a
Van Gogh (10.00)
Rijksmuseum (10.00)
Stedelijk (9.00)

NACK, all car rentals I know offer these type of cars.

Secondly, you won't be able to park a small bus when sightseeing in tight

If he find a place on the street it wouldn't be a problem to park the
cars. Only in underground parkings (garages) he will get problems,
because most of them are not high enough.

You're right. Upon search, I found several in Amsterdam, offering small
buses for 8-9 persons.
Prices vary, but a one-week rental would be about 600 euro.

When I lived in the Netherlands, there was a family rail pass that
made rail travel quite affordable for a family group. Dutch trains go
almost everywhere and run frequently. Cars are often bogged down in
traffic, and drivers tend to be a bit on the crazy side. I would at
least consider taking the train instead of a car.

Just be advised that your standard drivers license may not cover
driving a mini bus. I donīt know the rules for Holland , but just be
aware that there might be an issue here .

The regular B driver's licence (which is the European standard car
drivers licence) is good for any mini bus up to 8 passengers plus 1
driver.
