what is PATH train?
i cant find in the books...:

Port Authority Trans-Hudson subway.

se: http://www.panynj.gov/path/index.html

and

http://www.nj.com/njtransit/path.html

Fare is $1.50

It connects the New Jersey cities of Newark, Harrison, Hoboken and
Jersey City with Manhattan.

There are two PATH lines in Manhattan.

One stops in Greenwich Village and oyher points up to Herald Square
(one block from the Empire State Building). Many Manhattanites use it,
as a cheaper alternative to the NY Subway in a limited service area.

Many young people in New York use it in the middle of the night to
move in crowds from the bars that close in Manhattan, to Hobeken,
where they remain open later. For a brief period the trains are as
crowded as the usual commuting time.

The other spur connects the World Trade Center Station with the
previously mentioned NJ cities. As I said in an earlier message, the
very short trip (5minutes??) from WTC to Exchange Place - directly
opposite it across the river - offers Manhattan vistas similar to the
view of Hong Kong from Kowloon - only much, much closer.

I'm hoping to be down at Exchange Place tomorrow to see the arrival of
the Queen Elixabeth ll. The view of passing cruise ships is always
spectacular form that point.

When will you be in New York City? If you have not firmed up your
hotel reservations I urge you to do so ASAP. The crowds of tourists
already here seem to promise a very good tourist season and I suspect
that there will be some soldout weeks.
