This doesn't really fit any of the categories, but there is a Tennga,
Georgia right at the stateline.

Those are perhaps best called bordernames. Names that are blends
of the two state names and are usually on or near the border of
those two states. There's quite a few around. Off the top of my
head there are

Marydel and Delmar, both on the MD/DE border
Texhoma TX/OK
Florala AL
Alsask, SK (yes, Canada has one too)

Texarkana, which has elements of three states' names (but was
named after a railroad, I believe)

There's a bunch of others, but they don't come to mind right now.

Calling Arizona City a town or city is a stretch. Originally a
failed housing development it is now pretty much just a freeway
interchange.

Nonetheless, it's the one that got me started playing this game in the first
place (and Mark Brader has taken it to heights of which I never dreamt)...the
initial thought was "Oklahoma City is the capital and largest city of Oklahoma,
but Arizona City is just a wide spot in the road, and Kansas City (the first one
people think of) isn't even *in* Kansas"....

And it went forward from there....

One of the things I noticed was that Arizona doesn't seem to make much use of
other state's names...the only "populated place" here with the name of another
state is "Maine, Arizona", and if you knew where that is without looking it up
I'd be greatly surprised....r

I ca't find it even by looking it up, and I have quite a few maps
and atlases. My suspicion is that it's a ghost town. Do you have
a location?

It doesn't show up at http://www.ghosttowns.com/

Texarkansas is niftier.

The twin cities of Calexico, California, and Mexicali, Mexico,
are nifiter still.

Er, unless I've missed something on the news what with the Olympics and
all, that's not in any state.

OK, rephrase the subject for yourself to include provinces (as I
intended).

The city of Utrecht is in the province of Utrecht.
The city of Groningen is in the province of Groningen.
The city of Antwerpen is in the province of Antwerpen.
The city of Liège is in the province of Liège.

The city of Mexico is the capital of Mexico
