Heh, I'll write your plan (as I've done a few) for you, but it'll cost ya!

I'm pretty sure airlines wouldn't make sensitive info like that public, and
your lecturer doesn't expect you to be an expert. If you research the market
& make sound use of the principles in the course, you'll be fine...

WADR, I think he's formulating either a marketing plan, or a communications
strategy.

Both of these are considered "top secret" by most companies I have studied.
You can easily D/L an overview of their latest press releases, but they will
be full of waffle, and have the substance conveniently removed.

Case studies are routinely made available from companies of all sizes
-- you even occasionally see them promoted on advertisements,
especially on biz news channels.

They don't contain secret information, but in reality, very little is
secret in that world anyway. It's one of the reasons competition is so
tough. Once a fare change goes into the system, the world knows about
it, others react, they pull back, etc.

Unfortunately, I am doing neither. I am trying to get some background
reading for a Masters Course in Air Transport. As I come from an
Engineering background, a lot of the Marketing activity is a Black Art
to me. I ordered a few books Principles of Marketing, Airline
Marketing and Management etc, but I thought there might be some useful
stuff on the web. I've downloaded the aircraft market forecasts from
Airbus and Boeing, which are quite enlightening and I found a few
articles on airliners.net about budget airline startups.

I don't expect to find confidential or "valuable" data lying around
although it should be possible to piece together the basic principles.

Maybe I'll try the government and similar agencies for their view of
the world...

Thanks for any help,
David
