Can I see Penguins in Cape Town next week?

In the wild, on beaches, whatever? (No jokes about going to a zoo, please.)

We saw penguins at Boulders near Cape Town in late August a couple years
ago. I imagine they would be there in July. It sure smelled like they had
been there for more than a month.

You will be almost sertain to see penguins at Boulders Beach on the
East coast of the Cape Peninsula where there are a real breeding
colony of real wild penguins. A few years ago you just went to the
beach and could actually swimm with the penguins - but to day the
sight is protected by South African National Parks so now you pay a
small entry fee.

When I was there a year ago, half was protected, but the other
entrance you could enter the beach and there were still a few penguins
swimming around.

The cafe next to the beach was also a very nice place for breakfast,
and pretty cheap considering the tourist location. There was a hotel
there too you can stay in, but we stayed at the backpackers in
simonstown.
