Default Burj al Arab Dubai- eating info please

Daughter wants to eat at Burj Al Arab during our visit to Dubai in March.
So as a once in a lifetime treat, our first thoughts were thinking of
having afternnon tea, then someone suggested the Buffet Lunch as being far
better value.
Now a third person has said the lunch isn't very good and we should really
splash out and have the buffet dinner !!!
I don't really want to email the hotel at this stage with questions of
price, as I would assume they really only want the type of person who
doesn't care about costs !!

Anyone here have any views or any other ideas?Or perhaps go for a set menu,
if they do one?
Book direct with the Hotel or through a third party?

My advice is go elsewhere. The food is overpriced and not particularly
good. Unfortunately, the Burj-al-Arab is less a once-in-a-lifetime
treat than a tacky, sleazy den for Russian prostitutes and their
customers. (I've been there once and won't be back). Try a restaurant
at the Madinat Jumeirah complex.
