Default Anyone ever volunteered for National Park Service ?

I was browsing and ended up he
http://www.volunteer.gov/gov/results.cfm?ID=6591

*** Crater Lake National Park has an opening for a volunteer, needed
immediately! The volunteer is needed to start as soon as possible and work a
3-4 month period through May 13, 2010. ***
COMPENSATION: The volunteer may be given a stipend of $7 for each day worked
($35 per week). Housing will be provided at no cost. The housing includes
free laundry facilities and local phone service. No pets are allowed. The
volunteer will live in a furnished, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house within
walking distance (6 minutes) of the Steel Visitor Center. The housing is
shared with other employees/ volunteers, (hopefully no Jack Nicholson - my
comment) but the volunteer will have a private bedroom. The volunteer will
also have access to the park’s physical fitness equipment and library.
Additionally, there are great hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and
sledding opportunities in the area.

AREA INFORMATION: Crater Lake National Park is relatively remote, especially
in the winter. The nearest supermarkets and major shopping facilities are 60
miles away in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

*** WHAT ! ??

Reliable personal transportation is not required, but it is strongly
recommended.

** Yeah, I'd think so.
