People all over the country are heaping abuse on the Lions and making
snide remarks comparing them to the city of Detroit and all of that. This
is unfair and must stop. Everybody knows that the third world city of
Detroit is in much worse condition than the Lions team.

And I heard some idiot on the radio say that the Lions are only worth one
hundred million dollars. When the NFL expands they charge like six
hundred million dollars for an expansion franchise so it seems very
unlikely that an established team could only be worth one-sixth of that.
That is why most people who spend their time talking or writing about
sports do not have the slightest clue about what they are saying.

As if the Lions were only worth one hundred million dollars and the Fords
had to divest themselves when they file for bankruptcy then some smart guy
with money could buy the Lions and move them to LA and ask LA for a
hundred million dollars in tax concessions and have them a free NFL
football team. That does not seem likely because if it were that easy
everybody would be doing it.

Just as soon as the Lions start drafting a few players every year who can
play they will be back to their normal lousy state instead of an
abnormally lousy state like they are now.

At least Detroit has a world class NWA (soon to be Delta) airport hub. I
can't say that for New Orleans.

The Lions can thank Matt Millen for all those years of his futility!
