Default American tourists in Regensburg, Germany

Currently, I am qualifying me to do guided tours for English-speaking
tourists in Regensburg, a city in the east of Bavaria.

Therefore, I am quite interested to find out, what an average
American knows about Regensburg and Bavaria .

I list some of the historical terms, which I will mention in my guide.
Please let me know if you need more background information.

Celtic civilization, Marcus Aurelius, Free imperial city, Imperial
Diet, The holy Roman Empire of the German Nation,Patrician, 30-year
war, religious reformation, Martin Luther, Gothik and Romanesque
style, , Pope Benedikt XVI, The Duke Thurn & Taxis in Regensburg and
etc.

What do you learn about the German history in the USA?

Thank you for your feedback in advance. Currently, I am qualifying me

Wrong newsgroup. Does the average American think that Germany lies in
Asia?

I doubt that. The two foreigners I met when I arrived in the city were
American. The other chap was extremely interested in the canal system of the
region.
