can't answer that one as it really depends on what you like. Australia is a
big place and the weather / climate can be very different depending on
locattion.

i have driven Brisbane to Sydney about 4 times and Brisbane to Cairns about
6 times. I believe the best time would be summer given that you like the
warrth, just be aware that Cairns will be HOT and HUMID in summer.

hmm snow, i would love to see some.. I will see it again in New Zealand next
year. feel free to email if i can help with anything

John, oops, i forgot to mention that summer in Cairns can bring wet
conditions, though still hot and humid. Summer also can bring cyclones to
the QLD coast.

As John says, Australia is a big country and it depends what you want
to do. You may want to ski, so you would need to come out in
July/August. We travelled in April/May when it was not too hot in most
places. We spent some time in Perth and Western Australia, which you
should not miss. We stayed at the Duke's Apartment in Perth which was
great with a family. Check the web site at
http://www.dukesapartments.com/. We then went down south to a Farm Stay
which the children loved. Have a look at http://www.kindapark.com/. We
then came back to Perth and stayed at a Lesfio apartment
http://www.lesfio.com/ .

We had a great time.
