Default New Jersey Surf Beaches

My sons and I enjoy going to the beach especially beaches with enough surf
for bodysurfing. We intend going to New Jersey in August 2006. Do you have
any suggestions for good surf beaches?
Paul.

Paul,

Manasquan and Point Pleasant are pretty good surf spots (for Jersey).
You might get a decent swell coming in during mid-late August.

If you go to Manasquan beach the Inlet has a good break sometimes but
it gets very crowded in the summer. Brielle Road jetty has a decent
break as well but no surfing is allowed while guards are on duty, only
bodyboarding.

Point can get pretty big at Jenks beach (right next to the inlet).
Depending on the swell direction sometimes it can be twice as big
compared to other places.

Have fun on your trip,

Jon
