I also just got a good rec from someone on fr.rec.voyages ... Apparently if
you go to the FNAC Digitale (computer retailer) on Blvd. St. Germain, there
is a café inside with free wireless access. I was checking whether it would
be worth it to bring my Powerbook on my next trip to Paris next month.

Also, a v. good internet café (sans café) is located just outside of the St.
Michel metro station right next to a busy crepe/panini stand. It's hard to
miss ... But prices are cheap, about 2.50E for an hour of internet access.
They stay open late as well.

If you're in the Centre Pompidou area, directly across the square from the
museum is an internet café. They have English keyboards available and they
are reasonably priced. Watch out for pickpockets there, though. Don't get
a seat next to the sidewalk unless you're vigilant about watching your
belongings.

Hth. Sorry for the "landmark" type of directions, I didn't write down names
of places but will this trip around!

....including a dozen or so with American keyboards (how do European
keyboards generate the "@" symbol, anyway? 8 )

No Outlook Express or any other POP client, though. 8;(

Does anyone still use Outlook/OE? They probably don't want to get infected
with viruses and worms.

Meanwhile, you can use this to access your POP account via the web:
