Default Emirates flights

I'm holding flights to London Gatwick-KL for January 2004 for £381 + Tax.
Total for 2 people £837, Which from my searches seems a very very good
deal.-unless you know better!!
We usually fly MAS. I know Emirates has a very good reputation but- is there
a downside when comparing the 2 airlines, other than a 2 hour+ stop in
Dubai?
eg Do they still serve complimentary alcohol to economy pax? I've had a look
round Emirates website and it mentions wine with meals in Business but I
couldn't find ref to economy.

TIA

Jan

Yes, free booze, and served as fast as most airlines. Wine included.

Pretty good in-flight movies with seat-back screens (but fixed schedules
like most airlines, not on-demand as in SQ).
Haven't flown MAS for years so cannot compare them with EK.

I flew LHR-Jakarta, the only downside was the break in Dubai. That may be OK
if you like duty free shops, but I settled down in the "Irish" pub and it's
not cheap!

Good price too, I paid about GBP450 to Jkt.
