Default New public Wi-Fi spot in Philadelphia

Just saw this on a local Philadelphia listserve. It may be of interest
to those of you planning a trip to Philadelphia:

Comcast and T-Mobile are proud to present Philadelphia's first-ever
public indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi* HotSpot. This will be one of the first
and largest Wi-Fi parks in the Nation.

PRSA invites you to join prominent city leaders and executives from
Comcast, T-Mobile HotSpot and the South Street - Headhouse Square
Business District at a "wire cutting" ceremony and networking event to
introduce Headhouse Square as the first Wi-Fi HotSpot of its kind in
Philadelphia.

Guests at the networking event can test drive the Wi-Fi service at
interactive technology stations located in the Square. From
downloading music through the Rhapsody music service, online gaming
from Comcast Games on Demand, to the latest in personal communication
including Video Email, the Wi-Fi HotSpot makes it possible to
experience the power of T-Mobile HotSpot and Comcast High-Speed
Internet.

Date: Thursday, June 24, 2004

Time: 4:30 PM - 5: 00 PM "Wire Cutting" ceremony
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM "Wireless Networking" event

Location: 2nd and Lombard Streets at the Headhouse in Philadelphia

Food and soft drinks will be served.

The T-Mobile HotSpot network, supported at Headhouse Square by Comcast
high-speed data network, will give residents and visitors the ability
to get online at wireless broadband speeds with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop
computer or personal data assistant (PDA). The launch will create one
of the nation's largest Wi-Fi "hotspots," available in most indoor and
outdoor areas of the plaza, covering Second Street between South and
Pine Streets.
