Default Hylton Ross & Thompson Tours

We are traveling to South Africa and are looking for information on various
tours and operators. We are interested in a Garden Route Tour, and various
tours around Cape Town. Through our investigation we like what Hylton Ross
provides (Garden Route Tour (4-day), Cape Point and Table Mountain tour,
private tour). We also noted that they are recommended by Fodor's and
Frommer's. A second option that we liked was Thompson's Tours (Garden Route
Splendour and Cape Town Highlights). Does anyone have information and
experience with these tour operators and these specific tours? Any
information and experience with other tours and operators would also be
welcomed.

Thanks,
Bob

Hylton Ross meets my first standard for local tour
operators - they do it themselves. That is, they are
not brokers who contract out to others. Can't
say about Thompson's, though they have a good
reputation in the countries where they operate.

Take a look at www.ardis.co.za : Ardis Tours : They are new,
specialised in personal service, and come highly recommended !

PS: The Same Ardi from Ardis Restaurant fame !

In addition to the ones you mention are Springbok Atlas -
http://www.springbokatlas.com or one of the smaller brokers that will
shop around amongst all the others for you and give more personal service.

One that I can recomment is Destination SA on
http://www.destination-sa.com

Cheers,

Irvine

You can also browse through the itineraries in our Travel Center:

http://www.africaguide.com/travel

catering for all budgets and activities, offered by different tour
operators. Many of them have feedback displayed from previous
travellers.
