Myanmar (Burma)

four to seven of us are hoping to go to Myanmar, via Thailand, in late
February or March 2005. We hope to both dive two-three days and
snorkel/hike four to six days aboard a motor yacht. All of us are
certified with about 200 dives each (Carribean, Galapagos, Seychelles,
Palau and Yap etc). Any suggestions for sites or providers highly
welcome.

We are also planning to visit cultural and natural areas in Thailand and
Myanmar, and Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Angkor Wat is incredible. Plan 2-3 days there to see the main ruins
(more if you want to explore the surrounding area), and try to see
both a sunrise and sunset. You can fly there (to Siem Reap, a town 10
minutes from the ruins) from Bangkok for around US $260 round trip.

For travel info on Myanmar (Burma), check out www.myanmars.net. Burma
is my favorite destination in Southeast Asia; I plan on making my
third trip there next year. The ancient capital of Bagan (Pagan) is
perhaps the number one "must-see" attraction outside of Yangon
(Rangoon); my brief travel report on Pagan can be viewed he

to Kyaiktiyo (http://www.globosapiens.net/travel-i...aikto-103.html),
will require a full day from Rangoon, but is another attraction that
shouldn't be missed. I don't do any diving, but the Southeast
pennisula is said to have the best diving. Enjoy.
