"REGARDING NCL'S PRIDE OF AMERICA, which was recently towed to
dry-dock after sinking in a storm at the Lloyd Werft shipyard in
Bremerhaven, German, Star Cruises noted that the banks underwriting
the vessel have the right to call in the loan under specified
circumstances. If the lenders take that action, then Star said it
could default on the Pride loan or other loans "due to cross-default
clauses contained in this loan facility." Star added that it is "in
the process of seeking a waiver from the syndicate of banks and
expects to obtain such a waiver."
