Default Cheap Tickets YEG to Ukraine?

Advice regarding cheap tickets from YEG to Ukraine will be gratefully
received.

There are no international flights from Leduc to Ukraine, so presume
will have to connect via Calgary /YYC?

Thanks for any advice.

Edmonchuk to Ukraine. Edmonton is so full of Ukrainians that you should
have no trouble finding a local travel agent who knows the best way to
get to Ukraine. If you can't find a Ukraine specialist, try these guys:

As far as I know, there are no nonstop flights from *any* Canadian
airport to Ukraine.

There are nonstop charter flights from Edmonton to London, Amsterdam, and
Frankfurt. You shouldn't have trouble findinf flights from any of those
places to Ukraine.

Or you could fly on something like Air Canada/Alitalia Edmonton - Toronto
- Milan - Kiev. Or Maybe KLM Edmonton - Minneapolis - Amsterdam - Kiev. So
many possibilities.

A good place to find out who flies where is he

Go to a decent travel agent to get the best routes and prices. You
shouldn't have trouble finding an agent in Edmonchuk who's experienced in
how to get to Ukraine. Or try these guys, I've used them to get cheap
tickets from Canada to Central Europe befo

Don't try and book your flights online unless you want to get ripped off.

There seems to be a virulent outbreak of acronymia on this newsgroup.
This is read worldwide and especially all over North America where
using the airport code means nothing to most people - is it that much
more effort to type in the full name at least once?

Perhaps the OP did it on purpose, so as to exclude people who find airport
codes meaningless. After all, most people in that category probably don't
know the first thing about finding cheap airfare, anyway.

Aerosvit is only US$529 return,[less than C$614] from Toronto,
but travel agents asking more than double from Edmonchuk!!
Must be a ripoff, to discourage international travel?

Am looking for a cheap airfare from YEG to KIEV Ukraine.
If having to add sector fare to Toronto return, then fare DOUBLES,
making trip unacceptably expensive.

Does Aerosvit have special discount fare for those from western
Canada?
Thanks.

Cheapest Air Canada fare I can see is $C429.44 roundtrip for
Edmonton-Toronto, so the through fare should not be more than that much
over the Toronto-Kiev fare.

When do you want to go?

WestJet can get you from YEG to YYZ in May/June for $316 return, plus
taxes. Then you can get the Aerosvit flight from there.

I went to matrix.itasoftware.com and got a published fare of less than
$1,100 for Air Canada/Alitalia Edmonton - Toronto - Milan - Kiev. A
discount travel agent should be able to undercut that. But the price
you get all depends on when you want to go.

Did you try Travel Cuts? If they sell Aerosvit tickets thery should
also be able to add on the Edmonton-Toronto flight for much less than
booking it as a separate flight.

Actually, travel agents in YEG are quoting fares starting at $1350 to
Kiev!!

Which is why so many Ukrainians from Alberta will not pay this gouging
fare to go to Ukraine!!

If Aerosvit will not arrange for a more reasonable fare from Calgary
or Edmonton, to Kiev, then people will go to Germany or Czech Republic
instead, for half the cost!!

Don't forget to add on the $300 Canadian air tax, plus departure taxes
at all airports,etc...

Why not? I could find you a train fare from Germany to Kyiv.

Many thanks for the useful tip.
The price you mention is a quarter of what some local people have
quoted me, so I guess they are pocketing the difference.

Now, all I need is a realistally priced ticket from western Canada.
The damn Canadian government is supporting ridiculously high price
fixing, to discourage Canadians from travelling abroad!!
