Default SGC 2005 - What Are Your Interests???

It seems like a good time to begin gauging people's interests in an SGC for
Summer 2005.

For those of us with kids, our options are pretty much limited to what's
available in either July or August, though I know that screws up things for
some people in different parts of the country. I doubt that a Crossing, or
Panama Canal sailing is something that we'd find available in July/August.

I know that the SGC has a much smaller potential audience than the GGCs, but
for those who might be interested, which of the following areas are of
interest to you?

I'll keep track of the replies, though I'll be out of town Tuesday through
Thursday, so I'll need help those days.

1. Bermuda (kind of seems like a tradition of sorts)
2. Caribbean/Bahamas sailing from NYC (Voyager, NorwegianDawn, Carnival)
3. Canada/New England 7 Day sailing from NYC (if there is one)
4. Europe 7 Day sailing
5. Europe 10 Days or Longer sailing
6. Alaska
7. Caribbean sailing from Florida or Puerto Rico
8. Other (feel free to offer suggestions)

Anything from New York or Baltimore. Or Alaska. No way I would do
Europe in August. No way I would do any cruise out of Florida in July
or August to the Caribbean. Did that once, never again---too many kids.

We are definitely interested in an Alaska sailing from/to Vancouver in
July. WE have a wedding to attend on the first weekend in July, and so
could sail prior (landing in Vancouver for the wedding), or after (going
to the wedding as a pre-cruise option).
I think my mother in law and grandmother in law (both in Vancouver)
might be interested, too.

go on the sailing....

Do you really think that a NY sailing would have any less kids than Florida?

I agree with you Europe in August. If we did Europe, I would suggest
July as opposed to August when all the Europeans are on vacation.

Maybe not less on a Caribbean sailing out of NY like Dawn. How many
would you say were on the sailing you were on? I don't mind sailing
with kids, just not 600 to 800 kids, like on the Century sailing. Say
about 300 kids would be okay. I did a July sailing to Bermuda on Zenith
and there were kids, but not in an amount where they took over the
ship.

We went on Norwegian Dawn during the spring when kids were still in school.
There were almost no kids at all.

doubt that a Crossing, or

Tom, you're forgetting QM2 which will be doing regular crossings...

My suggestion: Canada/New England. Maybe even a 5 nighter.
