Default Ooty Lake hides a Mix Taste of Fun and Serenity

The beautiful Ooty lake, constructed in 1825, has long been a favorite
hunt for Ooty travelers. And the reason is simple; this lake is the
destination for all. If you love serenity, come and enjoy on its scenic
banks. If you want fun, try your hands on fishing, boat racing or horse
riding on this heavenly destination.

I'm totally ignorant about Ooty Lake. Assuming others might be too, I've
put a snipped here about it from Wikipedia:

*Ooty lake is located in Ooty of Nilgiris district in the state of Tamil
Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres. The Boat house established
alongside the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a
major tourist attraction in Ooty.*

Being located on high altitude, Ooty features a tropical weather all
through the year. The temperature ranges between 10 – to 20 degree
Celsius. The coolest months are December and January when the area
witness icefall. The temperature goes below 5 degree Celsius during this
time. So, keep warm cloths if you plan Ooty tour in November –February.

The entire Ooty is charming no matter where you are. However, some most
enchanting destinations in Ooty are the Botanic Gardens, Ooty Lake, St
Stephens Church, Doddabetta Peak and Government Museum. If you have
enough time, don’t miss to explore the rural life of tribe villages like
Toda inside the Nilgiri jugles.

Ooty is the paradise for trekkers. There are several treks to scale the
high hills of Niligiris, varying in distance, altitude and terrain.
Whichever trek you choose, one thing is sure that you journey would be
full of thrill and excitement. Trekking pamphlets can be hired from the
Nilgiri Wildlife and Environment Association. Also, service of a guide,
if necessary, can be availed from the same.
