Default Phoenix car rental process

It looks like I can no longer just get my car right at the airport in
Phoenix. Too bad; that was very convenient.

How does it work now? Where are the cars located?

when you are returning your car be sure to allow plenty of time for the
shuttle back to your airline

It's been several years since we've been there so the following may
have changed. We always wait to get gas until we are near an airport.
I didn't see any on the way in so I dropped my family off and went to
look for a gas station. I couldn't find one anyplace close and had to
do quite a bit of driving around. We had allowed a lot of time so were
fine but I'd be careful if we go back.

we have found that it is just simpler to pay for the gas ahead and bring the
car back empty...a few cents but looking around for a station and not
finding one nearby is maddening!

Hi

Further to the above, I have on at least 2 occasions filled the car up
no more than a couple of miles from an airport and been charged an
extortionate amount for the few millilitres of gas they managed to
squeeze into the tank.
