Great Price! What's the air fare back from Barcelona? BTW, I love Voyager. I've sailed on her 5 different times and each tine was great. Did the Transatlantic the other way in 09 -- Janet Wilder Way-the-heck-south Texas Spelling doesn't count. Cooking does. |

Great Price! What's the air fare back from Barcelona? On my last transatlantic the airfare back ranged from a little over $400 to $4000 for the one way ... There is a ridiculous descrepancy as many carriers don't like the one way trips ... You'll have to search ... With Easyjet and Ryan Air and other discount carriers inside Europe there can be access to cheaper options with more intensive searching ... |

Great Price! What's the air fare back from Barcelona? One could always wait for the trans-Atlantic cruise on the way back. lol And since most of those will happen in the fall ... You'll have one nice long summer vacation in Europe ... On our last transatlantic we met one recently retired couple who was doing just that ... Cruises across the Atlantic and Europass in Europe to do their retirement dream ... |

Cunard most likely did that with the Queen Mary 2 a few years back when we went. Air through Cunard was much cheaper, so they had to be splitting round trip tix and giving you half. --Tom |

Kay and I are thinking (okay, fantasizing) about taking a transatlantic to somewhere, cruising around Europe the whole summer, and then coming back across. Doing some on the big ships, then some river cruises, etc. Our goal is to never sleep on dry land. -- "Even I realized that money was to politicians what the ecalyptus tree is to koala bears: food, water, shelter and something to crap on." ---PJ O'Rourke |

Doing some on the big ships, then some river cruises, etc. Our goal is to never sleep on dry land. That would be fabulous. The only thing I wouldn't like about it is having to face cold weather (for me anything below 70° F is cold)and missing my dog. Our first river cruise was done as part of a European tour and I was freezing in mid October while we sailed from Budapest to Amsterdam. Barcelona in late November can be cold, too. If you go, bring a down parka. -- Janet Wilder Way-the-heck-south Texas Spelling doesn't count. Cooking does. |
