Default Is it cheaper to buy ticket directly from airline our from ticket agency?

Not sure which is more economical? Buying from airline or booking
through a ticket agency? Am planning a trip to Thailand this summer.

In theory a travel agency can be cheaper, but you never know until you
compare. Check the airlines first and then ask the travel agency if they can
beat the best price you found.

Where do you live? In most of Europe, it is cheaper to buy via a travel
agent (except for the no-frills airlines like Ryanair, Easyjet and Basiqair)

Actually not an unreasonable concept. Bob may be in the US and not
Europe. Here, travel agents have moved to adding fees for issuing
tickets to the point that it is usually cheaper to get tickets from the
airline. Travel agents only want to sell cruise packages. FFM
