Need some advice for Working Holiday in Australia...

Hello,
is there someone, who can give me some advice concerning Working
Holiday in Australia?
I have several questions: where do I get my tax number (and is it a
difficult process?), what bank would you recommand for an account (how
fast would I get a card and an account?), do you recommand a special
hostel card (there seem to be different hostels in Australia...?!),
which traveller guides are good, does a traveller network for
Australia and NZ exist in the internet? Are jobs advertised in the
hostels/internet/where do I easily find good advertisements? Is it
possible to use internet in the hostels? What other things would you
recommand?
