I grew up maybe an hour away from the Parkway, and have always loved
it.
While it is beautiful, it isn't nearly as awe inspiring as some drives
I've
taken. The road through Acadia NP in Maine, the route from Banff to
Jasper, the road out of Zion NP in Utah, the road from Escalante to
Boulder, Utah,
AIA to Key West, are, IMHO, all more dramatic.

You're right- the Blue Ridge Parkway is anything but dramatic. It's
subtle, calm, lovely, green and leafy- qualities many of us value more
than drama.

Lucky we have all kinds of options so we can all get what we enjoy! If
that's what people prefer, this is not the place for you.

Acadia and the Keys may have views of the water but the altitude and
uniqueness of the Blue Ridge Parkway make it a better pick for me. You
get tired of driving through the Keys, you never get tired of the Blue
Ridge Parkway. Beautiful waterfalls, tunnels, Linn Cove Viaduct, Mount
Mitchell make the BRP very unique
