How horrible. I always knew there were problems in St. Thomas, but never
heard of any in the tourist areas.

It happened going through a neighborhood which is on the way to Coki
Beach. She was in one of those open Safari type taxi buses common on St.
Thomas which I have been on several times. It was not a cruise line
excursion but Carnival is suspending it's beach trips to that beach
which is also next to Coral World.

The cruise lines need to stop docking in St.Thomas until the
government there can guarantee the safety of their cruise tourists,
all cruise tourists.

Give me a break. People can get caught in a crossfire in ANY port
including New York, Miami, Fort Lauderdale.

not in Canada

St. Thomas, it seems cruise lines are taking a wait and see
approach. http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=3986

Stu, if you really wrote, "not in Canada," then you simply aren't
connecting with the world around you. The identical concern for
tourists' safety was a huge issue for Canada this winter as host of the
Olympics. I thought you were in BC, where Vancouver is considered
Canada's gang capital? I certainly remember reading a lot about the
drug-fueled gang wars of 2009--the death count was alarming and included
innocent citizens. Toronto and Montreal, like most international cities,
haven't been immune either.

It's a random event. Don't sweat it.

Yes, that's why we have gun laws.

As for the cruise ships, if I go cruising and port in St.Thomas, I go
to shop, sample the ambience, try restaurants, not to get shot.

They guarantee it?? How?
Are you saying there is ZERO gun violence in Canada, and
that the Gov't can guarantee safety?

I read the news from around the world and I think you are
mistaken about the "guarantee". I think you are being silly
or trying to start a gun control debate.

Stu, I would love to enter this argument but the level of your
ridiculousness, naïveté and downright stupidity forces me to pop some
corn and watch you hang yourself.

Butter, get the butter!
