Default Question about Major Airlines in Bankruptcy

Greetings.

I may be travelling in May and June 2006 to England and back. How many
major airlines who fly to England are in bankrupcy? Is it safe to buy
advanced tickets from a bankrupt airline?

With thanks in advance.

shouting corrected

Surely you know by now that most Americans assume the world revolves
around the USA, and that we should know where they are from! ;-) Anyway,
the OP's e-mail address gives a clue!

To the OP - Google came up with this website in 0.4 of a second:
http://www.hasbrouck.org/articles/bankruptcy.html

Yo, homie, s'up?

I may be travelling in May and June 2006 to England and back.

From Ireland? The Outer Hebrides? Mongolia? Brazil? Do tell.

How many
major airlines who fly to England are in bankrupcy?

Some of them. Many of them aren't. The last time I was in an airplane
at Heathrow, I saw lots of airplanes carrying the logos of non-bankrupt
airlines, like British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific,
Singapore, Qantas, Air New Zealand ... yep, lots of non-bankrupt
airlines fly to England. I think Ryanair and EasyJet are also
non-bankrupt airlines, and they fly all over.

Is it safe to buy
advanced tickets from a bankrupt airline?

"Advanced tickets," eh? Are these tickets that are somehow more
sophisticated than other tickets? I'm not sure bankrupt airlines have
them.

But if you're wondering about buying a ticket in advance of your flight,
yes, an airline flying under bankruptcy rules will sell you one. In
some cases, you can buy such a ticket on discount web sites like Hotwire
or Priceline.

With thanks in advance.

Is that the same as advanced thanks?
