When we Cruise we like to have something in the room so we can have a drink or
two when we return from shore, while getting dressed for dinner, etc.
Accordingly we stashed some stuff in our checked luggage. No problems.

When boarding in San Pedro, which went pretty quickly, there was a "Collection"
table just after the carryon luggage screener but I did not see any thing being
collected.

At each port however, all packages coming aboard were being screened and bottles
being collected. In each port the packages collected filled a huge bin.

Liquor could be purchased aboard for in room consumption but you paid a hefty
surcharge for the privilege.

For instance, as I remember, a bottle of Chevas Regal could be purchased for
about $18.00 and delivered to your Cabin the Morning of debarkation or for
around $10.00 more you could take it to your room for onboard consumption.

Now $10.00 may not seem a "Hefty" fee but it was not all that long ago that that
bottle would have been $12-14 and there would have been no fee or charge for
taking it directly to your cabin. Because of that I personally consider it a
"Hefty" fee.

So the trick is to buy all your drinks at the boarding port?
