may sound stupid but am trying to get from Chicago to Atlantic City.
Find systems come up no planes traveling that way , no flights from your
area,or you have to make stops turning a 2 hr flight into 6 any
thoughts. I was told only Spirit flys to Atlantic International but
according to them they do not and was told you have to go to Phily and
drive

Two airlines serve Chicago and Atlantic City - Delta and Spirit. There
are no non-stop scheduled flights, so you will have to change in
Detroit, in the case of Spirit, or Cincinnati, if flying Delta. There
are also a number of options where you can change airlines along the
way.

Spirit does not appear to offer any flights with reasonable connecting
times, so you are probably best looking at Delta. They have some trips
with durations of 3:40 to 4:15.

Other options include non-stop flights on a number of airlines to PHL,
then driving or taking the NJ Transit train from there, or finding one
of the gambling charters that fly non-stop to Atlantic City from
Chicago.

You could always fly into Philadelphia and take a train to AC.
The train ride is something like about 60 minutes. See Amtrak's
web site for details.

you wont find anything on amtrak's site.
the one and a half hour ride with NJ-Transit from Philadelphia 30th
street station to Atlantic City costs USD 6,60 . Trains are frequent.
SEPTA runs direct shuttle trains from all PHL terminals to 30th street
station.
Amtrak might have thruway connecting service from CHI to Atlantic City,
but they don't run any trains to Atlantic City.

If you can't find a gambler's special direct to ACY, the best bet is
indeed to fly to PHL and take the train. The ACY airport is out in
the pine barrens not particularly close to the city and you have to
take a taxi into town, while the train station is right in the city by
the convention center and your train ticket gets you a free jitney
ride to any of the casinos if that's where you're going. They're
ordinary commuter trains so you have to lug your own baggage.

To get from PHL to Atlantic City, go out past the baggage claim to
any of the airport train stations, buy a ticket at the machine to
30th street, and take any train. At 30th st, go downstairs to the
main concourse (where the Amtrak trains are) and buy a ticket from
the NJ Transit machine for Atlantic City. The schedule is at:

It's also possible to get from Newark Airport to Atlantic City by
NJ Transit bus, but it's very slow and I wouldn't recommend it.

True, Amtrak hasn't run trains to Atlantic City in several years but
through tickets can be purchased to use on the New Jersey Transit
trains.
