As far as the countries you dislike, you will eventually come to thank them
and appreciate that they were the voice of reason and apologize for having
insulted them once you realise they were the sole opposition because your own
internal parties were asleep at the switch and did not react to your lying

government.

My husband won two plane tickets to London and we plan to use them to spend a
week in Europe. We want to see as many countries as we possibly can in 5 days.
Friends have told us the countries are pretty small and you can do them quickly.
So we plan to take a train from London to like Athens or the farthest point we
can and just see each country as we go by. I don't care to see anything in
particular, to tell you the truth I prefer to vacation in Orlando or Anaheim,
and after the way Europeans turned against us and our great President earlier
this year I would just as soon not spend any money there and help out their
economies with our dollars, but my husband really wants to use the free tickets
and if we take a long train ride across a lot of countries and take pictures
along the way then at least we can tell our friends back home we've been there
done that. Does any have any idea what's the most countries we can see in 5
days and which would be the best trains to take to pack in the most countries?

Thanks,

Barbara W.

Barbara,

For only five days just stay in London. Bush's friends, if any, are
right there.

By Jove, that's spiffing advice old boy! Our Great Leader and that
Bush fellah from the Colonies certainly showed the fuzzy-wuzzies a
thing or two, what? Good idea to enter a hostelry., let Mine Host know
where you're from and it'll be free beer and jellied eels all night.
Pick up a copy of the "Daily Mqail" every day just to know what those
dastardly European cads are up to and take it easy.

Ff-F,

Seems that you pickled yourself in vinegar and salt two centuries ago
and have just come out of preservation. Britain no longer rules the
waves, or anything else for that matter. Ya'll just tag along as George
W. Caesar leads the march, and doles out the spoils.

Why? You can fly into LHR early in the AM
What "set up" is needed?

Ever heard about booking ahead ? Was to Brussels for a 3 day trip last
week.
Think I needed some 30min for check in and "setup" in the room. Another 15
min for checkout and a short walk to the railstation just across the street.

been there, done that - try Madrid, downtown - after claiming bags, use the
metro downtown (30 minutes by itself), then a short walk to the hotel (5
minutes) and check-in; out of htere by oh, say 1:00pm after an 11:30 arrival
(prebooked, yes) IF we had wanted to go to the Renfe station, that would
have been another change (not a problem, just a few LESS minutes, sactually,
but then a wait for a train (to Granada) and then get to Granada oh, say
20:00 (8PM for the non-24 hour clock folks out there) 6-1/2 hour train
ride. You were saying something about not wasting a day? OK, I remember
Moscow - true, arrive SVO at 5:45 afternoon, (l o n g wait for immigration
and customs) short ride to Metro on a microbus, change at Ploschad Revolutsi
and a ride further to a hotel, arriving Izmailovski Park and checked in by
about 8:30 (maybe 9) I'm glad I was staying in Mockva.

Plan on 10 minutes? Maybe under absolutely perfect conditions. the "real
world" takes an HOUR. (of course, both of these were not exactly "air
friendly" cities (Mockva less than Madrid) - Madrid at least had direct
metro access fro the airport)

Shove them into the trunk (boot) of the rental car.
