whatsoever, aside from basic ISP charges for net access.

I've had 16 years access to tens of thousands of newsgroups with NO fees
whatsoever, aside from basic ISP charges for net access.
Well, I have had as many years and have also paid zero fees for Usenet
access, but, I see no reason to gloat about it or to badmouth others who are
willing to pay for what they want. Your comment said more about your
economic status than about criticizing the choices of others who are willing
to pay for what they choose, which really isn't any of your business, is it?

Your cheapshot about my supposed "economic status" is uncalled for. Thanks
to my frugality, I
was able to leave full time work at the age of 42. Few people NEED to pay
for UseNet access. Many are
just too damn lazy to do the due diligence to find free access to UseNet.
Just because I can "afford" something, that doesn't mean that I buy it.
Might I suggest that if a few more people SAVED a little, instead of
spending every penny on the
lastest electronic toy, they just MIGHT not be in the financial crisis so
common among cracked out consumers. There is also NO need
to have a vehicle for EVERY adult in the family. My values do NOT include
having the most expensive house or vehicle that I can afford. How long could
YOU survive if all income stopped? I figure I would have at least 25 years.

I'm not sure what I consider myself, but, I've always been complimented for
being a very patient person. As for being a mensch, I have been flattered
by being called a "mensch", on occasion, and feel humbled by such an
appellation and wonder if I have enough self-knowledge to see myself as
