since 9/11. Is the security about as good as it can get or are their roon
for improvments / more consistancy perhaps ?

Always room for improvement, but if you are concerned about security,
then you are doing the right thing. Australia is a lot safer than the
UK.

(or the food in the dispensing machines) than you are during
the flight.

I laughed at that, but actually I bet there are 100x more deaths from
food poisoning in any country than deaths from plane crashes/hijackings.

My main airport /airline concern is the discrepancy between the security
screenings & what is sold in the airport shops.

If you can't take nail scissors or a knitting needle through security then
why can you STILL purchase knives in some airport shops?

The whole airport security thing is a joke.

You should only worry if you feel like setting your shoes on fire.
