Who stays the longest in the Serengeti ?
Hi,
I'm planning on spending 4-6 weeks in Kenya, Tanzania (excluding Zanzibar) and hopefully Botswana. I plan on doing as much wildlife viewing as possible and I'm checking for non-lodge packages. I'm presently looking at different safari providers but they all seem to stay only one or two nights in the Serengeti. Do you know any provider that spends more time in this park ? I've done a 13 weeks Africa overland a few years ago but there was too much driving, too much drinking and not enough game viewing to my taste. I'm trying to find a way to spend as much time in parks as possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks a lot, Louie |

Every ground operator I'm aware of will let you spend as many nights as you wish in the Serengeti if you book a custom trip, which is often little or no more expensive than going on the pre-packaged trips. I spent seven nights in the central Serengeti last year and recently spent seven more nights in the middle of the migration in late January at the Serengeti/NCA border. All you have to do is ask (and be able to pay for it . Bill |

I'm in the Bay Area in California. Anybody interested in a tailored Kenya / Tanzania and eventually Botswana safari ? :-) Louie |

Who stays the longest in the Serengeti ?
Hello, I spent many days in and around the the Serengeti, probably the best thing to do if you want to make it more economical is to find some travel mates. If you are not to worried about costs, you still don't have to spend a fortune. All you have to do is either go to Arusha and find a travel agent there or look on the internet for one. You can also just look around and hire a vehicle in Arusha. You can usually get a vehicle/driver/cook and spend as many days as you want. Email Darryl at, and ask him to organize you a safari. He used to be in the Safari business and still helps people out. Tell him that John told you about him. Good Earth, Roy Safaris, Sunny Safaris ... there are literally dozens more but these three are a good place to start. You can also go thru a travel agent and they will book you with the ground operator they use but it's often less expensive if you book direct. Bill |
