What most disappointed me was not the cannibals, but the exhorbitant
rip-off rates the Cannibal Tours were, I paid over 300 $ for a tour of
a cannibal village, and they hardly let us get off the coach, just
took us to this gift shop where I did get a very nice necklace, looks
like some sort of small fake ivory, and an interesting flavoured
biltong.

I went to the same place they has some lovely lamp shades there,
a couple of people on our tour, refused to buy anything, and they
disappeared.

Interesting note I did some security consultancy on a famous SA
gold mine a few years back. The manager showed me some very
serious home made weapons that had been confiscated, said they
had been used in the murder of 3 workers. They however had no
evidence as the other hostel dwellers had eaten them.

you might have had this done to you, or you have been watching some crap
documentary.

I have backpacked round that continent, and my "knob" is
still intact, the people are warm, very interesting, and always willing
to help. If am not mistaken, there was a cult arrested in germany last
year for eating someone they met on the internet, and don't even get me
started on the Bosnia, Yugoslavia thing, what about South America?

Its
all Africa isn't it? Some education you've had, maybe you need to travel
more and see things for yourself, rather than what someone else tell
you.

Having lived here in Africa for a number of years, this reminds me of
the story told to me by one of my many cannibal friends.

His young son had just entered the time of coming of age and as part
of the tradition, he was taken by his father to look for dinner for
the village. They hid on a path frequented by many visitors.

The first person to come along the path was a scrawny elderly
gentleman. The youth, in his excitement told his father that there
was a great opportunity because the old man did not move very fast.
But Dad said that the man was but skin and bones and would not make a
very filling meal for an entire village.

A bit later, a very heavyset man came along the path and again, the
young man's eyes lit up with excitement. But the father told him to
wait because the man had too much fat and the villagers might get high
cholesterol if they were to dine on the passerby.

Just then a beautiful woman came walking along the path. Her youthful
figure was full and stunning to both the father and son alike. The
son insisted to the father that this was the perfect candidate.
Nicely toned muscles with just enough fat and plenty for the village.
But the father thought a bit and replied, "Son, this one we shall keep
and bring home to the village, where we will eat your mother."

(Sorry, but with a joke like this post, I could not help adding a
joke)
