Why not just bring your own iPod?

Hard to have a conversation, when you're plugged in. And, it kind of
isolates you from your surroundings - some might say iPods are anti-
social!. Hearing music as ambient sound vs. hearing music as the only
sound - there's a big difference between the two.

If the music is loud enough to hear properly, it's going to interfere
with quiet conversation. Og course, I don't like loud background
music (except in bathrooms), and apparently many people do.

One of my earliest cruises was on the HAL Westerdam (the old one).
They had a real movie theater. I loved having that option, if the
evening show in the show lounge didn't appeal to me. I'd love to see a
cutting edge, stadium seating, surround sound movie theater on ships -
maybe it would seat 200? Each week, they could have multiple showings
of, say, 3 movies, giving everyone a pretty decent chance to catch one
or more showings of the movies they wanted to see.

I like that idea.

Of course... some better movies these days might be a good idea too.

That is a peeve of mine on some Princess ships. The main show lounge has
theater seating and is great for watching movies..... but they usually
schedule the movies in the aft lounge... that has lounge-style seating.

Dumb.

Century has an actual movie theater.

Chocoholic buffets, every ship should have them.

Chocoholic buffets every night!

Real hot chocolate, like Ghiradelli, via room service in the morning.

"Spa day" packages that are not outrageously expensive.

"Boutique" shore excursions -- unique, hideway places not many people go
to, like a beautiful secluded beach and a lunch at an obscure restaurant
famed among locals, etc.

Could probably think of many more!

Wrap-around Promenade Deck with lounges all along the sides like the old Westerdam had and the HAL ships have.....and a pool without windows along the sides of the deck.....all open. The old Westerdam was a great old ship -- I loved the Queen's Lounge on that ship, and I agree on that movie theatre. I sooooooooooo fell asleep everytime I went in there. Those seats were awesome.

Actually on our recent Crown Princess and Caribbean Princess cruises they
have used the main Princess Theatre to show movies. BUT, for some reason
they show regular aspect movies in widescreen mode. So everyone looks like
they are three feet tall and 300 lbs.

I like the idea of a roller coaster, but we have become VERY fond of the
"Piazza" on the Crown Princess. We are hoping that the overhaul on the
Caribbean Princess will be comparable. But someone pointed out that they
will NOT be going into dry dock to make the required transition. We'll see
on August 31, 2008.

I'll start us off.....

A roller coaster. Imagine a roller coaster that roars around the top
decks of the ship and in one area... soars out over the water, 15 stories
above the sea.

BTW, George, the last ship we were on had SELF LEVELING swimming pools
and spas. I don't know how they did it, but except for some wave
action, the water in the pools and spa remained level despite the
pitching and rolling of the ship. It must have been quite an
engineering fete, but when i was floating in the pool, I was never once
in danger of being tilted off the deck and into the ocean.

An 18 hole golf course.
