Moon Phase and Cruising

Do you guys have any preference as to moon phase when you book a cruise? Do you even research and give consideration to whether or not you will have a full moon or new moon during your cruise? I'm not considering this for mystical reasons, but was wondering about it because of the ability to see what is out there at night. Your thoughts? Pam Eileen always check the moon phase before we cruise (but not when we are booking). She has some notion that her luck in the casino runs better when the moon is full. I have yet to see consistent evidence for this. The fact of the matter is that with enough time to play, all addicted gamblers lose. Howard |

Here are some other options. Following a new moon, see how "young" of a crescent you can spot. I will be looking for the 24-hour-old crescent Monday November 24th, from somewhere northwest of Aruba, along with Mercury and Mars. Enteresting that you brought that point up. I figured I was the only
one that checked that item out! (smile) I cruise the Mexican Riviera quite often... sometimes every other month. And yeah I prefer to book when the full moon exists for the beauty that is displayed in the night time hours versus a dark moon. It is not my primary consideration... but definitely a factor. Pam Pam, Never thought of this, but a very good question. A full moon at sea is much more impressive than a waning crescent....! |
