Vegas to San Diego?

Would preffer to take a sceneic drive

Take CA route 62 east to 29 Palms, then take a local road north
around 29 Palms Marine Corps Base to Amboy. Go east a short
distance from Amboy, on old Route 66, then get the road going
north under I-40 and through the Mojave National Preserve to
Kelso, Cima and I-15 . . . the shortest route from Las Vegas to
Palm Springs."

That's pretty-much the route we took from Palm Springs to 'Vegas. 'Twas
quite lovely.

I forget which side of Searchlight it was, but there was a 25-mile stretch
that we covered in fifteen minutes on a beautifully paved two-lane road.

This illiteracy brings forth the following, which is undeniably true of
the original poster.

Perhaps the poster isn't a native English speaker, Bill.

Let's see you toss off a perfectly formatted question to a German language
newsgroup.

If I can't tell an ignorant English-speaker from one whose native
language isn't English after nearly 70 years working on it, I'm more
stupid than I should be. And I'm not stupid.

Non-English speakers are much more careful about things like spelling
than the clod that made the original posting.

Hi!

Avoid I-15 by going via US-95 (Searchlight)

Then you'll miss the Mojave Preserve.

Not if you go via Kelso, Nipton, Searchlight.
