Default Question for Australian people

Hi there!

http://uniform.messageboard.nl/10231/viewtopic.php?t=18

Could you please answer my question in the link above (and also place
your answers there)?

I really want to know what the beautiful places are (and not the well
known ones like Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Fraser Island, Whitsundays,
Blue Mountains, Glass House Mountains, Coffs Harbour, etc). I would
like to know the real special real OZ places (if there still are any
in NSW and Queensland :-) ).

Thanks!

Regards,

http://www.sukotec.tk

I can answer many of the questions you have asked, and make some
suggestions.

However, like (I suspect) many of the people here, I would be happy to
discuss this in this newsgroup which is designed for exactly these sorts of
questions, but I am not prepared to enter data into your private web site.

Why don't you just ask your questions here, "in public" as it were?

That's also not a problem to me.
I just want to know the great places in Australia (NSW and Queensland)
and not the well known ones.

Ik denk echt niet dat Usenet geschikt is om je eigen forums to
adverteeren, Tim.

There's loads - this is an entire continent with just 20 million people,
mostly living by the coast. There's a lot of unspoilt land out there.

The places you've mentioned are good starting points to do that kind of
exploring. I think that you'll particularly like the Glasshouse
mountains - Montville and Maleny, which are up in the mountains, are
gorgeous. But I'd strongly suggest rather than going down a checklist of
places to visit, you take as much time as you can manage and travel
around, going in whatever direction takes your fancy. Just pick up
tourist maps in each location and wander around. You'll see more than
you would if you go on the prescribed tour.

My personal favourite, in Queensland, is Carnarvon Gorge, about which
you can find more information he

A bit north of Cairns is Cape Tribulation, which is also well worth a
visit - it has spectacular rainforest and beaches.

And if you want a bit of touristy fun and feed dolphins take a trip to
Tangalooma on Moreton Island, which you reach by boat from Brisbane.

That's just a few of the places off the top of my head. Drop me a line
if you've any more questions.

ps - if you're suffering from dutch snack withdrawal, Woolworths in the
big cities now stocks drop, stroopwafels and hagelslag!

Thanks for your replies!
All of your suggestions are most helpful. Please keep them going, my
list of places to go to is growing!

@Charles Kooij:
Adverteren is niet echt mijn bedoeling (al zou ik het leuk vinden als
wat meer mensen gebruik zouden maken van mijn forum), maar dat
terzijde. Bedankt voor je reactie trouwens. En believe me ik ga niet
naar Woolworths, eigenlijk wil ik helemaal geen Nederlands tegenkomen
(als het even kan!).

May I also suggest that if you come to Australia that you show some respect
for the land you are visiting.

On the Atherton tableland there are a number of fig trees that are great
attractions.

Why do European tourists insist on climbing over the fence to climb on the
trees, damaging them in the process, just to get their photo taken?

The only reason the trees are there in the first place is because someone
had the foresight to protect them.

We have State Forests and National Park in many places across Australia.

Why do European tourists insist on taking "short cuts" through state forests
and national parks instead of walking on the made tracks? Quite apart from
the damage done to the surrounds, you never know when a Joe Blake is going
to rear up and take exception to the intrusion on his domain.

Of course European tourists are not the only ones to blame; there seems to
be quite a few mindless Australians among offenders.

A little common sense would be nice. If we don't all protect what we have
then it will not be available for future generations.

You're absolutely right Ross!
People all over the world should pay respect for each other and their
countries.
I know there are a lot of tourists who do things that are not allowed,
they're mindless doing things like that. Everybody should respect the
nature (and of course the people living there).

Speaking for myself, it's a dream coming true for me that my girlfriend
and I are going to Australia. I will pay respect for the nature and the
people (like I do in every country I visit).

If you got any suggestions for me, I would love to here them!

Tim
