Default $$ of Cave Tubing

I picked up our documents for the Carnival Spirit(Feb 11-04). T/A
included a printout of all shore excursions available - without
prices! We are very interested in Cave Tubing in Belize. Does anyone
have a ball park $$ of the cost of this tour through Carnival - also
the cost of a private tour (Reggies)?

Yep: $65 with Reggie, $85 with Carnival but i think Carnival includes lunch
and is quite a bit longer because of that.

We just got off the Spirit three weeks ago my review is posted here
http://seacruisereviews.com/bycruise...?cruiseid=1081
The problem in Belize is that the Ship anchors 5 miles out, off-shore! It
take at least the first hour and a half to left the Carnival Organised shore
excursions off the ship first. Five miles is a long way even in those fast
tendering boats they use. So it's not like your tied up to a dock and
everyone is just walking off. The tender boats a bobbing up and down in
whatever the seas are that day. Its like getting on a ride at the local
fair! So your problem at this port is going to be timings. Independent
excursions may be a little cheaper but you are going to lose about two hours
off shore visiting time which may or may not be important to you because
tendering to the port starts after all the shore excursions have exited the
ship. We didn't go tubing but I heard it was very good. I think I
remember $89 or so. From our recent experience I can say the Carnival
Spirit currently is a great ship and crew....have fun and save some money in
Colon...stay on the ship!

We were on the same cruise (my son, Jeff was in the talent show) and would
disagree. We took a private tour in Colon and had a great tour, including
the Gatun locks, and the Duty Free Zone. We also went to a supermarket
where the tour guide escorted us inside. You can catch the tours just in
the dock area. The price was 1/2 of that of the ship and was in an air
conditioned van with about 10 others.
