Default U.S. banknotes - interesting appeals court case

Hi all,

As I recall, a while ago there was a discussion in this group about the
size, shape, and color of U.S. and other banknotes. U.S. notes -- even
the new high-tech ones -- are all the same shape, essentially the same
color, with no specific aid for the vision-impaired. It doesn't make
U.S. travel any easier either.

I just saw this story on cnn.com about a Federal appeals court ruling
that this situation violates U.S. law on discrimination against the
vision-impaired. You'll find the brief article interesting, I think.

http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/20/news...ex.htm?cnn=yes

My take on it is that since the Treasury has been heavily re-designing
the banknotes one by one, mostly to inhibit counterfeiting, it would
have (should have) been a no-brainer to take the extra step, follow most
other countries (especially the euro zone), and make the notes more
user-friendly. It will be interesting to see how the Treasury responds.

Yep, maybe I could.

And maybe you could stop slinging mud at other posters. I haven't seen a
substantive post yet from you, just one insult after another. Boring.

Let's make a deal. You shut up and I'll be VERY careful not to post
anything off-topic.

I can almost guarantee it will respond with an appeal.
