Default Europe-Closed on Sunday

Once, we were reduced to eating in McDonald's there, because those
restaurants which did open on Sundays, closed by 3 p.m.

It is true that Sunday meals out tend to be a lunch thing there. FFM

Its worth noting that Sunday lunch has got very popular in UK
pubs and you may find Sunday night a no food night.

... a fair number of the shops in UK are open on Sunday. As for the
... Popes opinions they are as valid as his opinions on
... contraception.

I find it sad that, at his age, he hasn't learned anything about human nature.
Who does he think is flock is composed of, angels ?

He's not in a good position to learn about human nature, is he?

If you travel in most of Europe you will notice that
shopping malls, or more likely hypermarchés are closed
on Sunday. There are sporting events, however

The Pope just said----

Pope Says Sundays for God, Not Sports

If I remember my RE (Religious Education) lessons correctly from my long
past schooldays, didn't Jesus say something like "the sabbath was made for
man, not man for the sabbath"? So does the Pope think he's bigger than
Jesus now?

Angels? Ever heard of one called Gabriel? He seemed to enjoy a good
time, didn't he?

I thought Gabriel was an archangel... But maybe I took a nap at catechism that day.

What's the difference? do archangels carry a big stick while angels
don't? How did he get her to cheat on poor Joe?

Weren't there stories floating around about nuns, when he was a young
priest back in Poland?

One wonders, what sin is dog punishing him for by making him crooked like
that?

There seem to be a hyerarchy... sort of.
Try this : http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10275b.htm
Not very informative, though.

Fairy tales?

Poor Joe, patron des cocus. Oh well.

But you can usually find some restaurant or hotel open. Holmes County is
hard for tourists!

We just avoid being there on Sundays.
