Default cruise medical insurance - would like to purchase -need info

Hi

I bought tickets for a cruise in June and did not take the cancelation
insurance at time of purchase. My dad - who is nearly 80 and is
coming with me is now concerned that I did not buy the insurance, as
unbeknownst to me, it has health insurance in it and now he is scared
that he will need to be airlifted from the ship (for some unknown
reason) and that medicare will not cover it. Is there some sort of
health insurance that i can buy at this stage that will put my dad's
mind at ease? i do not want him to worry about this type of thing.

Thanks
Jax

You can still get cruise insurance, just check to see if pre-existing
conditions would be covered. There are also annual medical only policies
that many travelers have, it won't cover cancellation or your baggage, but
if all you want is medical and evacuation, then that may be the way to go.

Check out www.insuremytrip.com for different policies available.

I normally get mine at www.travelexinsurance.com
and it includes different levels of medical coverage depending upon what you
require.

The third-party policies are available up until the day prior to your
departure. If you wait that late the info will be delivered to you by fax or
email. If you want the printed info by regular mail try to make the purchase at
least 10 - 14 days prior to your departure.

If you don't really care about the trip cancellation component you have plenty
of options that include the emergency evacuation coverage. CSA's plans can be
purchased at a $0 trip cost level pretty cheap as can the Travelex plans.
Travel Guard also has a Pack 'N Go plan that does the same thing. I don't
believe the Pack 'N Go is on the InsureMyTrip site so you'd need to contact
Travel Guard directly to check that one out 800-826-4919.

I have the opposite problem. I don't care about medical coverage since I
am covered under my own policy. I selected the highest cost option my
employer offered because it was a traditional insurance plan that covers
me anyplace in the world.

Does it cover being transferred off a ship at sea at a typical cost
$20,000+?
