Going back on her again, huh? *I was thinking about one of her short
sailings again this year. *Is your friend still working in the Golden Lion
Pub?

No idea. I hope so - Shannel was great! We'll see in 231 days.

Any ships I have ever sailed on from Manhattan did not go in that
direction. We went South under the Verazzano Bridge and out to sea
so I doubt whether yesterday's incident would affect any cruses.
Wonderful news that all passengers and crew from the US Air flight
that landed into the Hudson are safe.

However, being a cruise-geek I wonder about the impact to ship
traffic. I assume any departures from Manhattan (NCL?) will be
redirected to an alternate in Red Hook or Port Liberty - but are any
ships trapped in port tonight?

Also, how busy is the Hudson for commercial traffic? (I'm assuming a
submerged jet full of fuel would halt traffic)

..arresting video, though!

The plane crash in the hudson river was a reminder of a flight we had
coming back from a cruise and going to phila. the plane was going to
make a landing, and the pilot just barely missed going into the delaware
river,we were never so frightened in our lives,we thought we had met our
maker that day. Have had many more flights since then to phila.but the
others never made the same mistake as the other one did. He apologized
when we got off the plane, but that was not an excuse for misjudging his
landing.

That captain & his co-pilot should be given a heroes medal, how many
would have stayed on the plane to make sure everyone was out?

Rosaly, the only ships that wouldn't be affected would be Cunard or
Princess ships sailing out of Red Hook or RCI sailing from Cape Liberty.
Nost ships have traditionally sailed out of the Mid Town Pier which is
around 50th near the aircraft carrier Intrepid

If he had been flying USAir for 29 years, he didn't retire from the
AF. He got out of the AF.
