cabin baggage

whats going on with cabin baggage? BA say its now just by size or maybe 23K
limit, two items, Iberia still say the old 10K 1 item. Is this new 23K
thing general?

Air Berlin has the 23K limit as well on their intra-Europe routes.
Although their international routes on LTU are still at the size
based. So 23k may settlle into a standard if BA is adopting it.

From reading the BER website, the rule seems to be that for flights
from Europe to the USA and Canada, two pieces each of maximum 23kg are
allowed as checked luggage, so the 23k thing seems to be a general North
America rule.

Inside Europe the rules are different. There is a maximum of 20kg
total at no extra charge, unless you fly business or have a VIP card. If
you pay excess baggage, you can check more, but some countries (UK) have
limits for safety reasons.

The hand luggage limit is one piece at 6kg, or 8kg for a laptop, plus
there's the size limit.

which simplifies my dongle choosing in the other thread, looks like UK use
only via mobile normal or BB.
