Default Dude, where's my boat?

In this day and age of being able to find just about anything using
Google, I'm surprised I can't lay may hands on the current (or last
known) location of Uniworld's European river cruiser the "River
Duchess".

I'm supposed to meet up with it in Vienna early next week, but based
on the current state of the Danube, I have a feeling it may be stuck
somewhere upstream.

I suppose if I could form the query properly in German, I might find
it, but with just two semesters of German in high school, 40 years
ago, I'm not up to the task.

This site might help - seems that the measurements of water levels
show that they are too high for safe navigation at the moment, but
appear to be falling.

That's what prompted the question; I've been following this one:

http://www.elwis.de/gewaesserkunde/
Wasserstaende/wasserstaendeUebersichtGrafik.html.php?gw=DONAU

and it looks like everything south of Regensburg toward Passau and on
to Vienna is closed down.

Up 'til a few days ago, I was worried about Northwest getting me to
Vienna late; now I'm worried about getting there and finding out that
the boat is parked in Frankfurt.

And even then, I can just imagine how happy the locals are going to
be to have boat loads of tourists descend on them while they're
trying to shovel out the muck.

Have you tried calling Uniworld? They would probably be able to tell you if
the cruise schedule has been disrupted.
Here's there contact information:
General Reservations
Phone: 800-733-7820
International Callers: 818-382-2700
Fax: 818-382-7655
818-382-7656

Oh yeah.

They went so far as to admit that they had to make "minor changes" to the
itinerary in "some cities" but refused to elaborate.

I just sent an email to the boat; lets see if they have anything to say.

If the ship is stuck they will meet you where it was supposed to be and bus
you to the ship. If you are lucky they may overnight you in the city of
departure. This happened to clients of mine two years ago Not a peek from
them about the fact that the ship could only navigate half of the itinerary
..(their reasoning, it could always rain) this is a reason why I don't like
to book river cruises in the late summer.

There seems to be a Uniworld website in English. Why not just ask
them? They should know if what they've offered is going to be
unavailable for any reason.
