Dear Sir,
Laos is the best place to visit, according to the article below: Laos is best place to visit 05 February 2007 Laos has been voted as one of the best places in the world to take a holiday. The south-east Asian country topped a poll carried out by travel magazine Wanderlust, which sought the opinions of over 3,000 of its readers. Luang Prabang was the destination specifically highlighted in the poll, with a 96.36% satisfaction rating. Laos was closely followed by Varanasi, India, which received a 96% satisfaction rating. India's inclusion in the top five has been welcomed by many, with Wanderlust's editor-in-chief describing the country as a 'world class destination'. 'It is terrific to see an Indian city in one of the winning spots for the first time,' said Lyn Hughes. 'It has always been a popular destination with our readers but this year's result proves that it is a world class destination. It is a place that exceeds expectations and leaves an indelible impression.' The remainder of the top five best destinations to visit is made up of Cordoba in Spain, Siena in Italy and San Francisco in the US. © Adfero Ltd On Feb 20, 3:58 am, " wrote: what is the best country in asia to stay long term... In some countries, they just pay you in cash and the government never finds out you're working. In which country are the people the nicest? I would say Thailand wins this one. Mr Spokesperson, People rated Laos not for a long term visitation. They visit Laos because Laos has the best young Lao girls for sexual exploitation. "Alfred Molon" kirjoitti s.com... Malaysia is very stable: no earthquakes, no tsunamis, no wars, low criminality levels, good health system. The Boxing Day tsunami DID hit Malaysia too. Naturally, the impact was minute compared to that experienced in Indonesia. One source gives the number of fatalities in Malaysia as 68. |

That's a very low figure compared to what happened to other countries. Only Langkawi was hit to my knowledge (Penang also a bit). -- Alfred Molon http://www.molon.de - Photos of Asia, Africa and Europe |

Kaws and all,
Kaws is so upset to notice that Laos and Luang Prabang is rated among the top ten for tourist destination that he needs to paintbrush it with prostitution. You may wonder why Luang Prabang has topped the list of ten most attractive destination in the world which included: Luang Prabang, Varanasi (India), Cordoba (Spain), Siena (Italy), San Francisco (USA), Lucca (Italy), Sydney (Australia), Seville (Spain), Siem Reap (Cambodia) and New York (USA). Why Luang Prabang? Although not Laos' capital, Luang Prabang is the country's cultural capital, a living museum that well derserves its world heritage status. Nestled on the bank of the upper Mekong, this is a place you visit for days but want to stay for weeks. A place where life slows down. But change is coming. The city is on a crossroads between Thailand and China. The Thai love Luang Prabang and view it like Chiang Mai before developpers destroyed it. As for Chineses, imagine when a quarter of them get passports. that is the biggest influx of tourists since Kublai Khan came marauding through with his Mongol hordes in the 13th century. This is a good new for all Laotian who will work hard to promote a good image of their honeland. You see Kaws that there is nothing to do with prostitution even if you want to paint a bad image for Laos. All other foreigners can start a business if they have majority Thai partners. Being married to a Thai is irrelevant. Your stereotypes are outdated. what is the best country for working as a foreigner? In some countries, they just pay you in cash and the government never finds out you're working. And when they do you go to jail. If you want to work somewhere get a work permit. |

Most of you have not even listed the Philippines. I believe Philippines rates very high although its one very beautiful place that has been ignored on the asian scene. First of all almost anyone you meet will at least speak some english. That on its own makes a big difference. The country is beutiful and you have a variety of climates to choose from. You will be surprised how it can be nice dry sunny and hot here and cool rainy wet on the other side of the mountain. The people are the friendliest i have seen in Asia and very welcoming. I know short stay visa are not even required for most people but not sure about long stay permits. If you are married to Filipina its very easy to get residency but one thing i found can be a problem is finding work in Philippines. |
