For holidays to Malaysia, it's much cheaper to hire one than to own one.

Are you allowed to rent a car in Malaysia and use it in Singapore ?

It has to have an ERP transponder. I am not sure if you can get a temporary
one at the border. Cars in Johor often have them.

I don't even think I want to go back as a tourist, let alone live there

Bear in mind that you can be fined for spitting, fined for not flushing a
public toilet, fined for having a potted plant on your balcony (it could fall
off & hurt somebody), fined for sneezing sideways & a thousand other things.
Everything works in Singapore & everything's neat & clean...at a price.

But if you so decide to do so, you should have the peace of mind that know
that the chances of getting mugged, robbed/killed is very remote in
Singapore.

All sorts of foods is easily available and no lack of shopping.

Guys I got a question. My wife is suggesting that we move to
Singapore. She is from the Philippines and she took a 4 day trip to
Singapore with her mom. She is a city girl and she likes it there. Said
the people are nice. I asked,,,,is that the only reason you like it?
She said yes because how many cities do you know where there are nice
people. She wanted to know how can you move there. We are in Florida.

Can anyone respond to this inquiry? I dont plan to move there at all
but I want some ammuntion to present to her as to why we should not
move there.
