Bus from Mazatlan to Quito
Has anyone made a trip similar to this? How are the connections between the
different countries? Any idea how long and how much the bus fare would cost? Should I be concerned for our personal safety? Thanks |

You need to pick up a good central american guidebook, which will cover
the various central american border crossings. I think that the Lonely Planet and Footprint guides are the standard guidebooks. I see two problems with your plan: 1. The road is not complete between Panama and Columbia, this area is called the Darien Gap. 2. Overland travel is not recommended in Columbia, since the rebels like to set up roadblocks, kidnap foreigners and hold them for ransom. (No, I am not joking). I suggest you fly. richard Martik wrote: Has anyone made a trip similar to this? How are the connections between the different countries? Any idea how long and how much the bus fare would cost? Thanks, I expected safety would be an issue. Martik wrote: Has anyone made a trip similar to this? How are the connections between the different countries?
