And things like "country music" should be abolished. :-)

Howdy, Tim!

More to the point, are you aware that there is no Country named Ireland?

Why do you say that? Is it something like there's no country

Geographically, it is of course a Country. Politically, it is divided
into 2 separate parts, both with different names, forms of government
and currencies. And, just like Germany from the late 40s to the late
80s, reunification seems to be a very distant prospect.

If you mean that Ireland as a country doesn't exist, but it's called Eire
or "the republic of Ireland" *then Germany doesn't exist.

Is that on Welsh TV??!! :-))

:-)

My favourite was always "Tylldin bop Sais"!
(or similar - my Welsh depends on 50-year-old misremembered speech I'm
afraid!).

Community service?

:-) I enjoyed it actually. It's a bit weird to start with but eventually
the grammar sort of makes sense. Or it did at the time, but then the
classes were next to the student union bar and Marsten's Pedigree was 30p a
pint.

It would be the perfect place. :-)

New rate in old money.

I meant what are letters? I haven't written one for probably 10 years.

Well, the latter's name IS actually Bundesrepublik Deutschland, but then
the one I live in isn't named "America", but that's what it's called by
a real crowd of people.

Still, Germany is an interesting example.
The direct translation of 'country' is "Land" (in German, in Dutch and
perhaps in other languages). A "country" is not a state or a nation.
Now, the nation of Germany is the Bundesrepublik Deutschland, a
Federation of "Länder" (Saxony, Bavaria, Saarland, Hessen, you name 'm).
Are those "Länder" also "countries"?

And to be on-topic: would you travel to any of them? :-)
