Default Thinking of hotel near Berri-UQAM Metro Station

Hi,

I am going to Montreal, wondering what the area around this Metro
station is like. One of the hotels has a good deal. Is it safe at night?
Is it a nice area? The hotel is Hotel Europeenne on 1620 rue St-Hubert.

Thanks,

Alec

Montreal is a safe city. This hotel is close to rue St.Denis where there are
lots of cafes and bars. It is pretty lively at night.

Berri Metro isn't a pretty area. By day you get a lot of squeege punks and
by night you get drug dealers. As Dave said, Montreal is a safe city
compared to others -- the worst that would probably happen might be someone
offering to sell you some drugs if you have a late night and walk to your
hotel, but unless that hotel is significantly cheaper than those a bit more
to the west, I'd see what else is available.
